Performance
The 2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport employs the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder gasoline engine with electric motors and a high-capacity battery pack as the rest of the Toyota RAV4 PHEV lineup. Although the hybrid powertrain develops the same 320 horsepower and 172 lb.-ft. of torque, it is tuned for sharper, more engaging driving dynamics and handling. The estimated electric range is 77 km, which is a little lower than other models due to the more aggressive aero kit. The accelerator mapping, throttle response, and torque blending between the engine and electric motors are sharpened for a more immediate, sporty feel, making tip‑in livelier and the CVT’s transitions more driver‑oriented. Chassis‑focused tuning pairs the PHEV system with GR‑tuned suspension, stiffer springs/dampers, and retuned power steering, so torque and AWD behavior feel more responsive and controlled in corners and during quick maneuvers.
